The 53rd European Youth Parliament (E.Y.P.) session was held in Kiev, Ukraine from 14th - 22nd October, 2006.
Once again, Àgora students have had the privilege and honour of forming the Spanish delegation.
The E.Y.P. sessions are celebrated three times a year: spring, summer and autumn, in different European cities. The success of the E.Y.P. comes from its ability to bring together youngsters from an ever-growing variety of countries, eager to work towards common goals.
Each student forms part of a committee with up to twelve different countries represented. Each committee:
1) addresses a topic of current European concern,
2) develops a formal proposal based on their group’s consensus and discussion, and finally
3) debates their topic in a general assembly with the participation of all the other committees.
The final “Resolution Booklet” is sent to the European Commission in Brussels as an official voice of what young Europeans think about these topics.
Ten intense days of enriching experiences.
Stay tuned for the accounts of Georgina Álvarez, Adriana Díaz and Albert Carrillo, coming soon.
